Born and raised in the Lehigh
Valley, Linda Minger understands our concerns. Her father,
Bill, worked as a steelworker for more than forty years,
teaching Linda the values of hard work, honesty and
integrity.
Like many in the Lehigh Valley, Linda’s
family went through ups and downs, depending on the steel
mills. When Bethlehem Steel finally closed its doors, and
Linda's father lost his health care benefits, Linda learned
another valuable lesson: the current health care system is
failing the working families and senior citizens of
Pennsylvania.
For the past 20 years, Linda has
served as the Treasurer of Salisbury Township. There, she
gained a reputation as a friend and ally to taxpayers by going
above and beyond to help her neighbors.
When the township failed to offer
residents monthly tax payment installment plans, Minger
donated her own accounting and bookkeeping expertise to help
people. She voluntarily set up personalized payment plans that
allowed residents to pay their taxes on time and in more
affordable installments.
Linda also regularly visits Salisbury
Township seniors at their homes and assists them in filling
out property tax rent rebate forms to provide the tax relief
they need and deserve.
Because of her role as Salisbury
Township Treasurer, Linda Minger knows that the current tax
system is broken. Too many seniors struggle just to stay in
the home they raised their children in and too many young
families are deterred from buying their first home because of
the crushing burden of property taxes.
Linda knows our friends and
neighbors deserve more. That is why she wants to represent us
in Harrisburg.
Linda has been married to her
biggest supporter, Evan Minger, for the past 27 years.
Together they have three grown and successful children.
